Clams have a sweet, light flavor, but this is more evident in the smaller, more tender little necks. Simply steam until they pop completely open. Little necks have almost a buttery flavor.

Prep & Ingredients

To prepare steamed clams lightly scrub and rinse clams with clean water. Add 1/2 cup of water to a steamer pot and bring to a boil. Place the clams into the pot and cover with a lid. Watch closely and let steam until the shells start to open. Once the clams are open they are done. Remove from the pot and serve with melted butter and lemon juice.
