Built for Easy Sharing
A snow crab cluster is a connected group of walking legs and a claw attached at the shoulder. The meat is prized for its mild sweetness and delicate texture.
The segmented legs can be cracked at their joints and opened in sections. Because the clusters arrive pre-cooked, they need only careful reheating before serving with lemon or melted butter.
Preparation
Preparation
Snow crab legs: steam
- Add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of salt to a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Place the pre-cooked crab legs and your preferred seasoning on a rack over the boiling water, then cover.
- Steam for approximately 6 to 8 minutes after the water returns to a boil.
Boil
- Fill a large saucepan halfway with cold water, bring it to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt and your preferred seasoning.
- Add the crab legs, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for approximately 8 minutes.
Grill
- Brush the crab legs with olive oil on all sides to prevent sticking.
- Grill at 300°F for approximately 5 minutes per side, until heated through.
Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and arrange the crab legs in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.
- Add approximately ⅛ inch of hot water and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Bake for approximately 10 to 12 minutes.

Jumbo Snow Crab Clusters for Crab Night at Home
There is a particular kind of evening these are made for: paper on the table, a roll of paper towels standing in for napkins, and a pile of steaming jumbo snow crab clusters in the middle of it all. Each cluster is a built-in serving (walking legs and a claw joined at the shoulder), so passing them around is as simple as handing one over and letting everyone work at their own pace.
Setting Up the Feast
Start the pot before guests arrive: 2 in of boiling water, a steamer basket, five to seven minutes with the lid on. Set out melted butter, lemon wedges, and a bowl for shells, and dinner runs itself for an hour. The sections snap apart at the joints by hand, so crackers are optional; half the fun of snow crab is that fingers are the main utensil. Anything left over goes cold into next-day crab salad.
A Following Years in the Making
Buyers of this size describe themselves as customers of long standing, and their reviews (4.73 stars across eleven of them) return again and again to consistency: fresh-tasting crab, order after order, year after year. When people keep reordering a food this gloriously messy, it is telling you something.
Rounding Out the Order
These clusters ship frozen in an insulated cooler with dry ice or gel packs, cooked before freezing so your steam pot only has to reheat them. If your plans lean toward chowder or crab dip instead of a hands-on feast, the snow crab clusters in broken mixed sizes are the recipe-friendly route. Still torn between crab species for the big night? Our guide to Alaskan snow crab versus Dungeness crab legs settles it. Then clear the table and put the paper down.
