Built for Easy Sharing
A snow crab cluster is a connected group of walking legs and a claw attached at the shoulder. The meat is prized for its mild sweetness and delicate texture.
The segmented legs can be cracked at their joints and opened in sections. Because the clusters arrive pre-cooked, they need only careful reheating before serving with lemon or melted butter.
Preparation
Preparation
Snow crab legs: steam
- Add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of salt to a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Place the pre-cooked crab legs and your preferred seasoning on a rack over the boiling water, then cover.
- Steam for approximately 6 to 8 minutes after the water returns to a boil.
Boil
- Fill a large saucepan halfway with cold water, bring it to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt and your preferred seasoning.
- Add the crab legs, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for approximately 8 minutes.
Grill
- Brush the crab legs with olive oil on all sides to prevent sticking.
- Grill at 300°F for approximately 5 minutes per side, until heated through.
Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and arrange the crab legs in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.
- Add approximately ⅛ inch of hot water and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Bake for approximately 10 to 12 minutes.

Broken Snow Crab Clusters for the Pot, Not the Platter
Some snow crab is destined for a bisque, a dip, or a mountain of crab rolls, and none of those dishes care what the shell looked like. This box holds Alaskan snow crab clusters that broke into mixed sizes along the way: identical meat, the same delicate sweetness, just in irregular pieces. It is the honest shortcut for cooks who were going to crack everything apart anyway.
Dishes That Start with a Broken Box
Steam the pieces briefly, pick the meat, and the kitchen opens up: she-crab-style soup, crab-topped nachos, cold noodle salads, omelets, or simply a bowl of picked snow crab with drawn butter for dipping. Smaller fragments heat through faster than whole clusters would, which for weeknight cooking is a feature rather than a flaw.
Like all our snow crab, these pieces were cooked and frozen immediately after harvest, and they ship to you frozen, nested in an insulated cooler with dry ice or gel packs. Five to seven minutes over rolling steam brings any piece back to serving temperature; if you are headed straight to cold preparations, an overnight thaw in the refrigerator is all it takes.
Grab It While It's Here
Breakage is a byproduct, not a production line, so this listing is subject to availability and comes and goes. Reviewers who catch it in stock (4.92 stars across a dozen reviews) describe years of ordering and crab that tastes every bit as fresh as the whole clusters, which is exactly the point. When the meal calls for showpiece sections instead, the colossal snow crab clusters sit at the other end of our range. And for help choosing between crab styles altogether, our comparison of snow crab and Dungeness crab legs covers the differences that matter.
