Built for Easy Sharing
A snow crab cluster is a connected group of walking legs and a claw attached at the shoulder. The meat is prized for its mild sweetness and delicate texture.
The segmented legs can be cracked at their joints and opened in sections. Because the clusters arrive pre-cooked, they need only careful reheating before serving with lemon or melted butter.
Preparation
Preparation
Snow crab legs: steam
- Add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of salt to a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Place the pre-cooked crab legs and your preferred seasoning on a rack over the boiling water, then cover.
- Steam for approximately 6 to 8 minutes after the water returns to a boil.
Boil
- Fill a large saucepan halfway with cold water, bring it to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt and your preferred seasoning.
- Add the crab legs, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for approximately 8 minutes.
Grill
- Brush the crab legs with olive oil on all sides to prevent sticking.
- Grill at 300°F for approximately 5 minutes per side, until heated through.
Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and arrange the crab legs in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.

Colossal Snow Crab Clusters: Maximum Meat per Crack
Snow crab rewards patience, but colossal clusters ask for less of it. The biggest clusters we offer carry long, thick legs whose shells split at the joints with a twist of the hands, giving up whole ropes of delicate, mildly sweet meat instead of slivers. If picking crab has ever felt like more work than eating it, this is the size that changes the math.
What Reviewers Notice First
Across sixteen reviews averaging 4.88 stars, buyers keep landing on the same two points: how easily these clusters open, and how much meat comes out of each one. Several are already on their second order; snow crab this size tends to create repeat customers quickly.
Steam, Crack, Repeat
The clusters reach you fully cooked and frozen, flash-frozen right after harvest to lock in flavor. Bring 2 in of water to a boil under a basket, steam five to seven minutes, and serve with butter and lemon, or bake or boil if that suits your kitchen better. Chilled, the meat from these oversized legs can carry a seafood salad or a crab cocktail entirely on its own.
A Note on Shells, and Smaller Options
Snow crab shells are naturally brittle, and while every cooler is packed to keep clusters intact, a leg can still snap in transit even in a careful box; nothing about the meat changes when it does. If pieces do not bother you at all, our broken mixed-size snow crab clusters make that trade on purpose. And to see how snow crab's delicate sweetness compares with the West Coast's favorite crab, read our piece on snow crab clusters versus Dungeness crab legs. For the crab lover who wants the least shell between them and dinner, colossal is the pick.
