Prepared Near the Source
Alaskan king crab legs are generally cooked shortly after harvest, then rapidly chilled or frozen to protect their flavor and texture during transport.
King crab is already cooked when it reaches the customer, so home preparation is primarily reheating. Gentle steaming, baking or grilling warms the meat while helping it remain moist.
Preparation
Preparation
King crab legs: steam
- Add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of salt to a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Place the pre-cooked crab legs and your preferred seasoning on a rack over the boiling water, then cover.
- Steam for approximately 10 to 15 minutes after the water returns to a boil.
Boil
- Fill a large saucepan halfway with cold water, bring it to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt and your preferred seasoning.
- Add the crab legs, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
Grill
- Brush the crab legs with olive oil on all sides to prevent sticking.
- Grill at 275°F for approximately 10 minutes per side.
Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and arrange the crab legs in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.
- Add approximately ⅛ inch of hot water and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Large Alaskan King Crab Legs for the Regular Rotation
Not every king crab night needs to be an event. The large grade is for households that put crab legs on the menu the way other families do steak: often enough that ease matters. These are true wild-caught king crab legs out of Alaskan waters, just sized so they fit a standard stockpot, thaw faster, and split neatly between two plates without anyone doing arithmetic.
Weeknight Method, Weekend Flavor
The legs reach you already cooked, so a midweek crab dinner is genuinely a fifteen-minute affair. Boil a little water under a steamer basket, lid on, and let the steam roll until the meat is hot, a few minutes longer if the legs go in frozen. Sprinkle with seasoning and set out lemon and butter. On warm evenings, skip the pot entirely: thawed king crab served cold over ice makes a dinner you can finish before anyone gets home.
Every order leaves in an insulated cooler with dry ice or gel packs, and this listing's five-star reviews mostly circle the same point: boxes show up on schedule with the contents still frozen solid. Several reviewers say the reliability, as much as the crab, is why they keep reordering.
Where Large Fits in the Lineup
Choose large when you care more about eating king crab than displaying it. If your recipes call for picked meat (bisques, crab rolls, pasta), the broken mixed-size king crab legs get you there with less shell work. Then keep a box of these in the freezer and stop saving king crab for holidays.
