- How we handle your live order:
- We handle your crabs late in the day (we are located next to a FedEx hub).
- We provide extra crabs in every live order to help reduce the mortality rate.
- We sort through the crabs and pick the liveliest.
- Your crabs are carefully placed into our Styrofoam containers along with gel packs.
- Have a question about handling live crabs when they arrive at your doorstep? Call us 7 days / week.
- You can expect up to a 15% morality rate when ordering live crabs. Should you experience a higher mortality rate:
- Keep the crabs (we may ask you to ship them back to us).
- Call us the same day your order arrived (we are available 7 days/week).
Why order steamed?
- You like the convenience of having Harbour House Crabs steam your crabs with our special seasoning. You also want to reduce the risk taken on when ordering live crabs.
- How we handle your steamed order:
- We steam you crabs late in the afternoon (we are located next to a FedEx hub).
- We use a proprietary method to cool your crabs prior to packaging.
- Your crabs are carefully placed into our Styrofoam containers along with gel packs.
